The major international exhibition of children's book illustration at the Villa Reale
Le Immagini della Fantasia is one of the most important international exhibitions of children's book illustration, and each year it finds its home at the Belvedere of the Villa Reale in Monza, in the heart of Brianza. Promoted by the Štěpán Zavřel Foundation of Sàrmede, the event brings hundreds of original artworks by illustrators from all over the world to Monza, offering a unique insight into the art of visual storytelling.
The illustrations are organized into thematic sections that change from year to year, following a common thread. Each edition is enhanced by the presence of an international guest of honour, a renowned illustrator to whom a special space is dedicated. The exhibition caters to a wide audience, from children to adults passionate about art and illustrated books, and turns the Villa Reale into a showcase for contemporary illustration.
Around the exhibition, Monza buzzes with initiatives: readings, workshops, conferences, meetings with illustrators and authors, library activities, designed to engage both adults and children. Free admission makes the exhibition accessible to everyone and a beloved event for families and schools in the Brianza region. For those visiting Monza in the spring, it's an unmissable opportunity to discover the best of international illustration within the magnificent setting of the Villa Reale.
