Landro Wheat Harvest Festival

The 2025 Landro Wheat Harvest Festival was held on July 8, 2025, in the Landro district of Gioiosa Marea (ME), confirming its role as a flagship event for the rural traditions of the Nebrodi.

Once again this year, the La Spiga Cultural Association presented the re-enactment of the hand-harvesting of wheat: farmers in traditional costumes gathered stalks with scythes and vintage tools, inviting visitors to try the ancient harvesting techniques. The "Wheat Paths" circuit wound through the district, featuring an exhibition of ancient agricultural tools and workshops on ancient grains.

The day was enlivened by traditional folk music and songs, group dances, and folklore, culminating in the famous pastry competition among local housewives and the grand maccheronata tasting that closed the festival.
