La Sicilia nel Cinema

The third edition (August 1-2, 2025)

The third edition of La Sicilia nel Cinema was held on August 1 and 2, 2025, in the setting of the Villa Falcone e Borsellino in Trabia, in the province of Palermo. With free admission and screenings starting at 9:00 PM, the festival showcased works by young Sicilian directors selected by artistic director Beppe Manno, who was joined in hosting by Rossella Scannavino.

Featured titles included: "Paolo e i suoi Angeli" by Giulia Galati, the documentary "Aspra mundi" by Andrea Lorenzini, the short films "Samsa" by Gianpiero Pumo, "Il silenzio perfetto" by Francesco Lama, "La fèmmina" by Simona De Simone starring Orio Scaduto, and "Omayma" with a screenplay by Paolo Pintacuda. Guests included Ivan Scinardo, director of the Experimental Centre of Cinematography. The closing evening featured the presentation of awards to the island's talents, with honors going to Orio Scaduto, Paolo Pintacuda, and Andrea Lorenzini, among others.
