Street theatre invades the alleys of Caorle
La Luna nel Pozzo is the International Street Theatre Festival that animates the historic centre of Caorle, in the province of Venice, every September. The alleys, squares, and beaches of the lagoon village become the ideal stage for hundreds of shows, among the most appreciated on the Italian and European urban theatre scene.
The festival brings together international artists and companies with a multidisciplinary programme: street theatre, contemporary circus, juggling, aerial acrobatics, fire shows, puppetry and large puppets, mime, clowning, street poetry, and children's theatre. Every corner of the city holds a surprise for the audience.
The event is conceived and organised by the Carichi Sospesi association, an organisation active in the production and promotion of performing arts. Over the years, the festival has also extended its spaces to Ca' Corniani and Porto Santa Margherita, confirming itself as a reference event for street arts in eastern Veneto.
All shows are free admission: families, children, and the curious can stroll through the squares and be captivated by the magic of the artists. A dedicated app accompanies the public in discovering the programme and schedules.
The 2026 edition, the XXXI of the festival, confirms Caorle as the capital of street theatre in eastern Veneto. For five days, the historic centre and the new locations of Ca' Corniani and Porto Santa Margherita host hundreds of free shows. The programme is organised by the association Carichi Sospesi and is updated on the official website and the dedicated app.
The 31st edition (September 2-6, 2026) brings international companies of street theatre, circus, and performing arts to Caorle. Among the announced artists:
