Three evenings of music, art, and flavours in the historic centre of Spinetoli
L'arte non è acqua is the summer event that enlivens the historic centre of Spinetoli, a small municipality in the Province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region, every August. Founded in 2012, the festival is conceived, organised, and managed entirely by volunteers from the Associazione Culturale Officina 177, a youth organisation that has chosen to stay and invest in its territory instead of leaving it. The result is a self-funded, free, and deeply identity-driven event that has earned a permanent place in the cultural calendar of the Piceno region.
The festival's headquarters is Piazza Roma, in the historic centre of Spinetoli, which for three evenings is filled with stages, stalls, and lights. The formula combines different forms of expression: evening concerts with artists from the Italian independent, singer-songwriter, and hip-hop scene; art exhibitions and an illustration market; tastings of local wines at the association's cellar; and a curated gastronomic offering with typical dishes and genuine cuisine.
Over the years, "L'arte non è acqua" has hosted important names from the Italian music scene, from songwriting to conscious hip-hop: past editions have featured artists such as Bugo, Dente, Giancane, 99 Posse, Claver Gold, Micah P. Hinson, Frankie Hi-Nrg Mc, Meganoidi, and many others. The line-up has always focused on quality and artistic research, making the festival a reference point for fans of independent music from all over the Marche region and beyond.
What makes this event special is the spirit that animates it. Everything is managed by volunteers, food and drink prices are deliberately kept low, and admission to the concerts is free. The organisation's invitation is simple: experience the village, support the initiative by consuming on-site, and be surprised by a carefully crafted programme. For Spinetoli and the entire Province of Ascoli Piceno, "L'arte non è acqua" is now an unmissable summer event in the Marche region.
The 2026 edition of L'arte non è acqua confirms the formula loved by the Piceno public: three evenings in the historic centre of Spinetoli with live music, art, tastings, and genuine cuisine, all with free admission. The cellar opens at 6:30 PM with aperitifs and tastings, while dinner is served from 7:30 PM. This year again, the organisation is entirely handled by volunteers from the Officina 177 association.
