2025 Edition
From July 22 to August 5, 2025, Castel Sant'Angelo hosted the L'Angelo e la luna festival, dedicated to dance, circus, and performing arts. The program traversed the castle's many environments - from the Court of Alexander VI to the Sala Paolina, from the San Matteo Bastion to the panoramic terrace - with immersive productions. Highlights included the itinerant show Madonna della Farfalla, inspired by the painting of the same name by Giovan Francesco Caroto, with artistic direction by Daniele Cipriani, costumes by Roberto Capucci, and choreography by Sergio Bernal, as well as the contemporary circus project Il Castello degli Angeli ostinati. An edition that confirmed the festival's vocation to combine heritage and live performance in the heart of Rome, in the Lazio region.
