King Chestnut Festival 2025 - 27th Edition
The 27th edition, from October 23 to 26, 2025, marked the debut of "Il Mundajè", the first edition of the World Championship for Roasted Chestnut Makers, hosted in Piazza Tre Medaglie d'Oro. The festival opened on Thursday with the meeting "The future of chestnut cultivation" at the Civic Library and closed on Sunday with the grand fair through the village streets.
Among the most popular events were the presentation of the Marrone di Chiusa di Pesio to the newborns of the year in Piazza Cavour, the "Mundajé Snack" on Via Roma, the grand Pro Loco polenta feast, and the Barba Blues concert. Sunday was dedicated to the craft and local produce market, the lunch in honor of the King Chestnut, and family entertainment, confirming the success of an event that is a symbol of the Pesio Valley.

- 20:45 - "Ezio Alberione" Civic Library: meeting "The future of chestnut cultivation" and tastings
Friday, October 24
- 19:00 - Piazza Cavour: presentation of "Il Mundajè", tastings, and 70s-80s rock music
Saturday, October 25
- 9:30 - Mundaj-Bike, free cycling tour (25 km, by reservation)
- 9:30 - Guided hike to Castello Mirabello
- 14:00-21:00 - Piazza Tre Medaglie d'Oro: "Il Mundajè", roasted chestnut makers' challenge
- 15:00 - Piazza Cavour: presentation of the Marrone to the newborns of the year
- 16:00 - Via Roma: "Mundajé Snack" with roasted chestnuts and desserts
- 20:00 - Grand Pro Loco polenta feast (10 euros)
- 21:00 - "Il Mundajè" final and Barba Blues concert
Sunday, October 26
- 9:00-18:00 - Craft and local produce market, area dedicated to the Marrone and its derivatives
- 12:00 - Award ceremony for the "Il Mundajè" championship
- 12:30 - "Lunch in honor of the King Chestnut" (23 euros, by reservation)
- Afternoon - family entertainment, face painting, and activities
