Edition 2025 — Katàbba

The 2025 edition of Katàbba - A Thousand Years of History was held on Sunday, January 26, in Monforte San Giorgio (ME). As per tradition, the Grand Historical Pageant in the afternoon re-enacted the arrival of Grand Count Roger I of Hauteville and the liberation of the village from the Saracens, enlivening the historic center with costumed processions, flag-wavers, and street performers.

The 2025 edition of Katàbba - A Thousand Years of History took place on Sunday, January 26, in Monforte San Giorgio, in the Peloritani mountains of the Province of Messina. In this edition as well, the re-enactment brought the village back to the medieval era of Grand Count Roger I of Hauteville, with the Grand Historical Pageant in the afternoon serving as the highlight.

The preceding weeks were marked by the Sant'Agata bell-ringing and the tammuriniata, while the festival day saw flag-wavers, musicians, street performers, and markets enlivening the streets of the center, with tastings of local products. The event, with free admission, confirmed its role as a key identity-building appointment in the Messina winter calendar.
