June 4th - Anniversary of the Liberation of Rome (Ceremony at Porta San Paolo)

June 4, 2025: Rome's tribute to its liberators

The 2025 edition of the commemoration followed the now-traditional itinerary of Roman memory. In the morning, at Porta San Paolo, the Mayor of Rome Capital laid a laurel wreath at the memorial for Italian and foreign soldiers and civilians, at the site where, in September 1943, soldiers and citizens stood against German troops.

The day continued at the Martyrs of Forte Bravetta Park, at Via di Bravetta 739, the scene of executions during the months of occupation, and concluded with commemorations at La Storta, where fourteen political prisoners taken from the Via Tasso prison were killed in June 1944. Partisan associations, the ANPI, local districts, and numerous local schools took part in the ceremonies.
