Edition 2025 — Jaufentaler Almabtrieb
2025 Edition — The Val Giovo Transhumance
The Jaufentaler Almabtrieb was held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Sennerhof (Jaufentalerhof) farm, in Val Giovo (Jaufental), in the municipality of Racines/Ratschings, Province of Bolzano. From 10:00 AM, the farm was filled with music and entertainment in anticipation of the cattle's arrival.
Around noon, the procession of about ninety cows, adorned with fir-branch crowns, flower garlands, and cowbells, reached the Sennerhof to the delight of the public. The autumn festival continued under the marquee with live folk music and traditional Wipptal choirs, freshly baked fragrant Jaufentaler Krapfen, and South Tyrolean rural specialties, creating an authentic atmosphere of the end of the alpine season.
