Ispica Living Nativity

2025/2026 Edition - 'In the Name of Bread'

The 28th edition of the Ispica Living Nativity focused on the theme 'In the Name of Bread', celebrating the values of agrarian civilization and the ritual of bread as a symbol of memory, identity, and community. The performance was held on December 21, 25, 26, and 28, 2025, and January 1, 4, and 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (last entry at 7:45 PM).

Eight living tableaux marked the stages of the bread ritual—from preparing the land to sowing, from harvesting to milling, from the oven to the humble and immense gesture of breaking bread—animated by over a hundred performers including harvesters, artisans, bakers, travelers, and storytellers. Admission cost 6 euros, with free entry for children up to 6 years old and disabled visitors with a companion. The artistic direction was curated by Giuseppe Galfo, with organization by the PromoEventi association and Pro Loco Spaccaforno.
