Inverdurata 2025: homage to Agrigento Capital of Culture

The 19th edition of the Inverdurata of Pachino, held from May 9 to 11, 2025, chose as its theme «Agrigento 2025 – A long journey through history, art, and culture», in homage to the Sicilian city proclaimed Italian Capital of Culture. The vegetable mosaics set up along Via Cavour, composed of local vegetables such as zucchini, onions, and tomatoes, gave shape to pictures inspired by the history of Agrigento: from the Hellenic roots of Akragas to the literary ferment of Girgenti, up to the contemporary identity of the city.

The creation of the sketches began on Friday, May 9, from the afternoon until late at night, while on Saturday, May 10, the inauguration of the vegetable carpet and the blessing took place. The program included markets, food stalls, musical shows, cultural meetings, workshops, and fashion shows, kicking off the «Pachinese Spring» in the town's historic center.
