The fourth edition in Piazza Cota

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the center of Piano di Sorrento hosted the fourth edition of the International Folklore Encounters. From 8:00 PM, Piazza Cota filled with an audience for an evening of celebration, tradition, and cultural exchange between different countries, with the best folk dance groups invited for the occasion.

Sorrento Folk and municipal patronage

The initiative was promoted by the Sorrentofolk association with the patronage of the municipal administration led by Mayor Salvatore Cappiello, as part of the Estate Blu 2025 — Davanti al golfo di Surriento! festival, the summer program that enlivens the city's squares and iconic landmarks with free-entry events.

A highly anticipated event

After the third edition in July 2024, which brought groups from Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Poland, and Turkey to Piano di Sorrento alongside the Italian hosts, the 2025 edition confirmed the non-competitive format of the festival: no competition, but an exchange of values between different communities, with the Sorrento tarantella serving as the common thread of the evening.
