The cinema of non-professionals in competition in Brescia
The Intercomunal Festival of Amateur Cinema is one of the longest-running film festivals in Brescia, entirely dedicated to cinema made by non-professionals. Promoted by Zona Cinema, the event takes place at Cascina Parco Gallo, in the Brescia Due district, and gives a voice to directors and videomakers who make films out of passion.
The festival features works of various formats in competition—short films, medium-length films, and feature films—selected from submissions by Italian and foreign authors. Participation is exclusively reserved for works created by non-professionals, in line with the review's mission: to promote and enhance amateur cinema and its expressive freedom.
Each edition proposes a theme that serves as a common thread for screenings and meetings, ranging from the memory of cinema of the past to the new frontiers of technology and artificial intelligence. A way to reflect on how filmmaking is changing, while keeping the creativity and personal vision of the authors at the center.
The Intercomunal Festival of Amateur Cinema is also an opportunity to remember and celebrate the protagonists of local cinema, with editions dedicated to Brescia filmmakers who have contributed to the storytelling of the territory and visual experimentation. An event that, for over twenty years, has intertwined cinema, community, and identity in the heart of the province of Brescia.
The XXVII edition of the Intercomunal Festival of Amateur Cinema opens on April 11, 2026, with a special pre-festival and continues on May 15, 16, and 17 at the Salone della Cascina Parco Gallo, at via Corfù 100 (Brescia Due).
The theme of the edition is "From Carosello to AI", a journey that links memories of the old Carosello to the new frontiers of artificial intelligence. The edition is dedicated to Brescia filmmakers Angio Zane and Gian Butturini, important figures in local cinema.
