About Amateur Cinema Festival

The Intercomunal Festival of Amateur Cinema is the historic Brescia review dedicated to cinema made by non-professionals. Promoted by Zona Cinema, it annually brings works in competition—short films, medium-length films, and feature films—selected from Italian and foreign authors to the Cascina Parco Gallo in Brescia. With a pre-festival and several days of competitive screenings, the event enhances amateur creativity and storytelling of the territory, giving space to free and experimental perspectives. A niche but deeply felt event that has animated the independent film scene of the Lombard capital for over twenty years.

Homemade Cinema on the Big Screen

The Intercomunal Festival of Amateur Cinema is one of the longest-running film festivals in Brescia, entirely dedicated to cinema made by non-professionals. Promoted by Zona Cinema, the event takes place at Cascina Parco Gallo, in the Brescia Due district, and gives a voice to directors and videomakers who make films out of passion.

Works in Competition

The festival features works of various formats in competition—short films, medium-length films, and feature films—selected from submissions by Italian and foreign authors. Participation is exclusively reserved for works created by non-professionals, in line with the review's mission: to promote and enhance amateur cinema and its expressive freedom.

Between Memory and New Frontiers

Each edition proposes a theme that serves as a common thread for screenings and meetings, ranging from the memory of cinema of the past to the new frontiers of technology and artificial intelligence. A way to reflect on how filmmaking is changing, while keeping the creativity and personal vision of the authors at the center.

A Tribute to the Territory

The Intercomunal Festival of Amateur Cinema is also an opportunity to remember and celebrate the protagonists of local cinema, with editions dedicated to Brescia filmmakers who have contributed to the storytelling of the territory and visual experimentation. An event that, for over twenty years, has intertwined cinema, community, and identity in the heart of the province of Brescia.
