Immaculate Conception Festival

The 2025 edition

In December 2025, the community of Altofonte gathered for the Immaculate Conception Festival, led as tradition dictates by the Congregation of Maria SS. Immacolata. On the afternoon of December 7th, the processione ri mazzuna carried the float of the Immaculate through the town streets, decorated with branches of laurel, myrtle, rosemary, and oranges, accompanied by the characteristic mazzuna bonfires.

During the night, the Mattutino took place, with the "chiamata da Immaculatedda" and convivial stops featuring sfince and hot drinks. On December 8th, the day opened with Holy Mass, the consumption of traditional vastedde, and the official procession, which concluded with a fireworks display over the town.
