Il Rovo Literary Contest

14th edition — August 2, 2025

The fourteenth edition of the Il Rovo Literary Contest was held on August 2, 2025, at 8:30 PM in Largo Purgatorio, in the historic center of Cagnano Varano. The evening featured the awards ceremony for the three categories, readings of the winning entries, moments of live music with percussion and piano, and a final aperitif with local products.

In the Poetry category, Sola tra mille cuori soli by Maria Assunta Oddi won; in Prose, Madre by Carla Cipriani took the top spot; in the Legality category, the first prize went to La parabola degli accecati by Costantino Piemontese. The top finishers received a 500-euro prize, a plaque, and a voucher for a stay, while second and third-place winners received plaques and baskets of products from local businesses.

The mayor and municipal administrators attended the ceremony along with representatives of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, confirming the civic value of the initiative organized by the Pro Loco of Cagnano Varano.
