The new cultural festival in Collepardo blending theatre, music, and spirituality
Il Respiro del Cuore is a cultural festival debuting in 2026 in Collepardo, a small mountain village in the Ciociaria area of the Frosinone province, in the heart of Lazio. Conceived as a project dedicated to theatre, music, and dance performances, the festival aims to transform the area's most historically and culturally significant sites into vibrant spaces for participation and sharing, where culture becomes a meeting point for beauty and community.
The first edition opened on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM, in the evocative Church of the Consolazione in Collepardo, with the theatrical performance «Io non sono mai stato Benedetto», directed by and starring Fausto Costantini, an artist dedicated to researching and enhancing the historical, cultural, and spiritual roots of the territory. The work offers a reinterpretation of the figure of Saint Benedict of Nursia that goes beyond hagiography to reveal the person behind the saint. The text is written by Ludovica Costantini, with music and costumes by Rocre.
The festival also stems from a collaboration with the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Lazio – Certosa di Trisulti, the monumental monastic complex that overlooks Collepardo and stands as one of the most precious treasures of the Lazio heritage. Nestled in the woods of the Ernici Mountains, the Certosa preserves centuries of history, art, and spirituality: an exceptional setting that provides a profound and contemplative tone to the entire event.
Il Respiro del Cuore is promoted by the Municipality of Collepardo with the contribution of the Lazio Region. The artistic direction is entrusted to Temistocle Capone, who has curated a programme capable of intertwining different languages and sensibilities, with the intent of offering the public high-quality cultural experiences in particularly charming settings. The stated goal is to create opportunities for connection between culture, beauty, and community.
As a debut festival, Il Respiro del Cuore represents a precious opportunity to discover an authentic village in the Ciociaria hinterland and to experience theatre and music in places steeped in history and silence. An event designed for those seeking an intimate cultural experience, far from the mainstream circuits, capable of combining spiritual reflection with the promotion of the Lazio region.
