Edition 2025 — Il Pappone

On Friday, January 17th, 2025, the Civita Falconara district in Arpino hosted the annual edition of the 'pappone' in honor of Saint Anthony Abbot. The polenta, cooked in copper cauldrons and seasoned with sauce and grated pecorino, was blessed after Mass at the Santa Maria Assunta church and distributed for free to residents and visitors.

On January 17th, 2025, on the day of the Saint Anthony Abbot Festival, the centuries-old tradition of the Pappone was renewed in Arpino (FR). In the Civita Falconara district, in front of the Santa Maria Assunta church, the polenta was prepared in large quantities in traditional copper cauldrons, seasoned with sauce and pecorino, and distributed for free after the priest's blessing. A ritual of sharing that dates back to a 1615 bequest and brings the Arpino community together every year in the heart of the Ciociaria winter.
