Idi di Maggio 2025 in Oglianico

The 43rd edition of the Idi di Maggio Festival brought the medieval ricetto of Oglianico, in the Canavese (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont), to life with a month of events. The raising of the May Tree on April 12th opened the festivities, which continued on May 1st with Calendimaggio and the election of the Consul and historical characters, followed by the Flag-Throwing Tournament and the Casa Gilda taverns.

Subsequent days featured "Maggiando" with folk music and open-air taverns, "Ricetto diVino" with tastings, the costumed Medieval Dinner, and the Receptum, accessible only in period attire. On Sunday, May 11th, the Idi di Maggio Medieval Fair filled the village streets with markets, shows, tournaments, and the ninth "Messer Chef" cooking competition, concluding with popular theater and the Calata del Maggio ritual. All events were free of charge.
