About Humanity Music Festival

The Humanity Music Festival is a charity singing competition held every spring at the Municipal Theatre of Porto San Giorgio, in the Marche region. The event combines music and solidarity: emerging artists from all over Italy perform over two evenings, while the proceeds from voluntary donations support local social initiatives. The 2026 edition, the third, was dedicated to singer-songwriter Mango, with the special guest presence of Laura Valente.

A festival of music and humanity

The Humanity Music Festival is a charity music event held at the Municipal Theatre of Porto San Giorgio, a seaside town in the Riviera del Fermano, in the province of Fermo, Marche region. The event is organized by the Associazione Culturale La Decima, chaired by Paola Pieragostini, in collaboration with the Municipality of Porto San Giorgio. The core idea is simple yet powerful: to put music at the service of solidarity, transforming a singing competition into an opportunity for concrete support to the local community.

How the competition works

The festival unfolds over two days. The first evening is dedicated to covers: participants, selected through a national call, reinterpret famous songs in front of a jury of industry professionals. The second evening hosts the final, during which the artists present their original songs. Musicians from various Italian regions, across a wide age range, register for the competition each year, reflecting the event's inclusive spirit.

The 2026 edition dedicated to Mango

The third edition, held on April 24th and 25th, 2026, was entirely dedicated to the singer-songwriter Mango, an innovative figure in Italian pop music who passed away in 2014. The special guest was Laura Valente, the artist's widow. On Friday evening, April 24th, at 9:00 PM, eight semi-finalists performed covers of Mango's songs; on Saturday, April 25th, starting at 4:30 PM, the final with original songs took place. The jury included prestigious names from the Italian music scene, such as Cheope, Ricky Portera, Fabio Liberatori, Alessandro Gaetano, Daniele Pezzoli, and Daniele Caracchi.

Awards

Several awards are presented during the event:

  • Humanity Music Festival Award, the main prize of the festival;
  • Giovanni Pezzoli Award for the best musician;
  • Critics' and Press Award;
  • Special Invitation to the Rino Gaetano Day, a prestigious music event in Rome.

In 2026, the awards went to, among others, Graziachiara Melissa, Cristiana Antoniani, and Davide De Luca.

Solidarity and community

The heart of the event is its charitable purpose: admission to the theatre is by voluntary donation, and the proceeds are donated to local social organizations, including Villa Murri and other associations working to help vulnerable individuals. In this way, the Humanity Music Festival continues to be an event that celebrates emerging young talents while giving back to the community of Porto San Giorgio and the entire Marche region.
