Edition 2025 — Sambuca Holy Week
The 2025 Edition
On Good Friday, April 18, 2025, Sambuca di Sicilia experienced its most heartfelt rites: the procession of the Dead Christ and Maria Santissima Addolorata wound through the alleys of the historic center, managed by the local parishes. As per tradition, the afternoon procession of the Addolorata, accompanied by the marching band, preceded the solemn evening procession of the Dead Christ.
The rites were part of the Holy Week cycle which, in this village in the province of Agrigento, concludes with Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, confirming the vitality of a popular tradition deeply rooted in the Sambuca community.
