Holy Week — Procession of the Golden Angels and the Barette

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in San Pier Niceto, in the province of Messina, took place during the Easter period in April. On Holy Tuesday, April 15, the historic Procession of the Golden Angels took place: at the signal given by three cannon shots, the ringing of bells, and the municipal band, dozens of children covered in golden trinkets accompanied the ancient Holy Crucifix through the town's streets. On Good Friday, April 18, the Procession of the Barette was renewed.

Framing the rites, on April 13, the photo exhibition I giorni degli Angeli by photographer Antonio Spadaro was inaugurated, hosted at the Sacra Famiglia Institute and curated with the support of the local cultural association.
