Holy Week of Canicattì

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week of Canicattì opened on Friday, April 11, with the gathering of the statues at the Church of San Biagio at 5:45 PM and the city's Via Crucis at 7:00 PM in Piazza IV Novembre.

Palm Sunday (April 13) featured the blessing of the palms and the procession from the Church of San Diego, followed in the following days by a sacred music concert by the "Gaspare Lo Nigro" polyphonic choir and the Via Crucis with the statues from the Calvary to San Diego. On Good Friday, April 18, the procession of the Nazarene Christ started at 2:30 PM, concluding with the rite of the Spartenza at 10:30 PM. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the celebrations closed with the meeting between the Risen Christ and the Marian statues, accompanied by a marching band and fireworks.
