Holy Week 2025 in Barrafranca
The 2025 rites took place from April 12 to 20. From April 12 to 20, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the Municipal Cloister hosted an exhibition of painting and sculpture by local artists, an exhibition of artistic Easter nativity scenes, and a photo and video exhibition.
On Holy Tuesday, at 8:30 PM, the Barrafranca Band concert was held at the Mother Church. Holy Wednesday featured 'A Vasacra, starting at 6:30 PM, organized by the Arcobaleno Performance Group, with over two hundred actors in period costumes. On Good Friday, the procession of Our Lady of Sorrows (10:00 AM) and, in the evening (8:00 PM), the procession of the Holy Crucifix U Trunu took place. On Easter Sunday, at 12:00 PM, in Piazza Fratelli Messina, 'A Giunta was celebrated, the encounter between the Risen Christ, the Apostles, and the Madonna.
