Holy Week in Santo Stefano Quisquina

The 2025 edition kicked off on Sunday, April 13, with the blessing of the palms in Piazza Carmelo and the procession toward the Mother Church. On Maundy Thursday (April 17), the 'In Coena Domini' Mass was celebrated at 6:30 PM, followed at 10:30 PM by the procession of Our Lady of Sorrows toward the Church of the Carmelo. On Good Friday (April 18), the two Via Crucis took place from 10:30 AM, the crucifixion at the Calvary at noon, and in the evening, the deposition of the Crucifix and the procession with the urn of the dead Christ. On Holy Saturday (April 19), after the Via Matris, the two Easter Vigils were held; on Easter Sunday (April 20), the meeting of the Risen Christ with the Madonna took place in the three town squares, accompanied by the chant 'Lu Recitu'.
