Holy Week in San Giovanni Rotondo

The 2025 edition of Holy Week in San Giovanni Rotondo accompanied the community toward Easter on April 20 with its usual blend of faith and tradition. The rites of the Easter Triduum, from the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper with the preparation of the altars of repose to the Easter Vigil, marked the most solemn days. The heart of the celebrations was, as per tradition, the procession of Our Lady of Sorrows and the dead Christ on Good Friday: departing from the church of San Nicola, the image of Our Lady of Sorrows traveled through the streets of the center along the fourteen stations of the Cross, until the moving encounter on Corso Umberto I, experienced by the faithful in a silence filled with participation.
