Edition 2025 — A Cunnutta

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Montemaggiore Belsito took place from April 13 to 20, organized by the Sant'Agata V.M. Parish. The climax was the Good Friday procession "A Cunnutta" on April 18 at 9:00 PM, with the Dead Christ carried on the shoulders of local youths and the Madonna Addolorata accompanied by the Circoline and the marching band's chants through the town streets.

Holy Week 2025

The 2025 Holy Week of Montemaggiore Belsito (PA) took place from April 13 to 20, under the guidance of the Sant'Agata V.M. Parish. After Palm Sunday (April 13) and the Stations of the Cross during the middle of the week, Maundy Thursday (April 17) featured the Mass of the Lord's Supper and the visit to the altars of repose.

The most anticipated moment was the procession of the Dead Christ, "A Cunnutta", on Good Friday, April 18 at 9:00 PM: the community accompanied the simulacrum of the Dead Christ and the Madonna Addolorata, carried by the Circoline, through the town streets amidst the moving chants of the marching band. The week concluded with the Holy Saturday Easter Vigil (April 19) and Easter Sunday.

Programme

Palm Sunday (April 13): blessing of palms. Stations of the Cross during the middle of the week. Maundy Thursday (April 17): Mass of the Lord's Supper and visit to the altars of repose. Good Friday (April 18, 9:00 PM): "A Cunnutta" Dead Christ procession. Holy Saturday (April 19): Easter Vigil.
