Edition 2025 — Holy Week Canosa

In 2025, the Holy Week in Canosa di Puglia took place between Passion Friday, April 11, and Holy Saturday, April 19. As per tradition, the three great processions — Addolorata, Mysteries, and Desolata — marked the days of the Passion, drawing thousands of faithful to the historic center of Canosa.

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Canosa di Puglia renewed the ancient tradition of the city's Easter rites. On Friday, April 11, Passion Friday, the Procession of Our Lady of Sorrows departed from the San Sabino Co-Cathedral with the Hymn to the Madonna of Tears. On Good Friday, the Procession of the Mysteries wound its way from the Maria SS. del Carmelo Church, featuring the ancient wooden and Lecce papier-mâché statues carried on the shoulders of men from local parishes and associations. On Saturday, April 19, the Solemn Procession of the Desolata saw women dressed in black join "like a chain" singing the Hymn of the Desolata in a rite of great emotional intensity. The celebrations were also broadcast live on local stations and social media channels.
