Holy Week in Alcara li Fusi — Christus "U Passiu"

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week rites in Alcara li Fusi was highly anticipated for the return of the sacred performance Christus "U Passiu", which had been missing from the Nebrodi village's schedule for eleven years. Due to adverse weather conditions, the performance was postponed and held on April 24, 2025, drawing large crowds. Alongside it, the traditional setup of the Apostles' statue group in 18th-century papier-mâché in the Mother Church, the Good Friday Troccole, the Procession of the Mysteries, and the Cerca dell'Addolorata on Easter Sunday took place, confirming the vitality of one of the most deeply felt traditions in the province of Messina.
