Holy Week and Easter

The 2025 edition of the Holy Week in Militello Rosmarino renewed the rites passed down for generations. Good Friday, April 18, opened with the pre-dawn procession of the urn of the dead Christ and, in the afternoon, with the procession of the Crucifix and the Virgin of Sorrows carried on the shoulders of the eight "Giudei" in blue tunics, accompanied by the Maddalene. The evening featured the Via Crucis with luminaries and the traditional chant. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the town in the Nebrodi Park celebrated the Resurrection with the procession of the Risen Christ and fireworks, confirming this tradition as one of the most heartfelt in the province of Messina.
