About Campione d'Italia Circuit

In Campione d'Italia, an Italian enclave on Lake Lugano in the province of Como, the charm of vintage motoring is revived. The Historical Re-enactment of the Campione d'Italia Circuit brings historic cars, motorcycles, and boats back to the legendary 1,116-meter city circuit, defined as 'the smallest in the world,' which Tazio Nuvolari also raced on. Between track sessions, parades, gala dinners, and the Mini GP Kids, it's a cross-border event that combines sport, history, and spectacle against the backdrop of the lake.

A Legendary Circuit

Campione d'Italia is a unique Italian enclave—a municipality in the province of Como—entirely surrounded by Swiss territory, overlooking Lake Lugano. Here, on a city circuit of just 1,116 meters, considered 'the smallest in the world,' a circuit was born in 1937 that attracted legendary champions, including Tazio Nuvolari in 1946.

The Re-enactment

The Historical Re-enactment of the Campione d'Italia Circuit brings that myth back to life: for a few days, the town transforms into an open-air museum of classic motoring, with vintage cars, motorcycles, and boats as the stars, featured in track sessions, static exhibitions, and parades. Vehicles built up to 1947 can participate, along with later vehicles selected for historical and sporting interest.

A Program for Everyone

The program alternates technical moments with initiatives open to the public: parades, including one to Lugano, gala dinners, dynamic track sessions—including evening ones—and the Mini GP Kids dedicated to the youngest. The paddock and circuit entrance are free, making the event accessible to all enthusiasts.

A Cross-Border Event

Organized by Victorious and BrainsHub with the patronage of the Municipality of Campione d'Italia and the Automobile Club Lugano Classic, the event has a strong cross-border dimension between Italy and Switzerland. An appointment that intertwines sporting memory, the elegance of classic motoring, and the unique charm of Lake Lugano.

Campione d'Italia Circuit — edition 2026

From September 3 to 6, 2026, the Historical Re-enactment of the Circuit returns to Campione d'Italia for its second edition. Vintage cars, motorcycles, and boats return to the 1,116-meter track on Lake Lugano, featuring track sessions, parades, gala dinners, and the Mini GP Kids. Paddock and circuit entrance are free.

The 2026 edition, the second of the event, takes place from September 3 to 6. Thursday is dedicated to technical checks and static vehicle displays; Friday to practice sessions and the parade towards Lugano, followed by the gala dinner; Saturday to dynamic track sessions, including evening ones; Sunday to final sessions and awards. Cars and motorcycles built up to 1947, later vehicles selected for historical and sporting interest, and vintage boats can participate. Organized by Victorious and BrainsHub with the patronage of the Municipality and the Automobile Club Lugano Classic.
