Historical Districts Regatta of Syracuse

The 18th edition of the Historical Districts Regatta of Syracuse was held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in a special version to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO recognition of Ortigia and the historic center (2005-2025). Five restored Syracuse gozzi, the characteristic buzzetti, competed in the Great Harbor, starting at 4:30 PM from the mouth of the Small Harbor and arriving inside the Darsena.

For the anniversary occasion, the crews represented five civilizations linked to the history of Syracuse. Accompanying the race, from August 6 to 18, was the craft market dedicated to "Trades, Art, and Creativity" along the Foro Vittorio Emanuele II, the heart of the Syracuse Marina, with local products and festive moments. The free event was organized by the Il Gozzo di Marika Cultural Association with the support of the Municipality of Syracuse.
