Historic Carnival of Gallipoli

The Historic Carnival of Gallipoli 2025 opened on Sunday, February 23, at 11:30 AM with a procession of flag-wavers that traveled from the Castle to the City Hall on Via De Pace; at noon, a herald proclaimed the opening of the carnival from the balconies of the Palace, presenting the sovereigns Re Candallino and Regina Mendula Riccia. In the afternoon, the festivities moved to Corso Roma with the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the official start of the parades.

The grand parade of allegorical floats and costumed groups culminated on Sunday, March 2, with the awards ceremony followed at 8:00 PM in Piazza Tellini by music from the group Vega 80. Five first-category floats, five second-category ones, and eight costumed groups competed, with works signed by Team Scorrano, FideliterExcubat, Team Coppola, Team Franco Monterosso, and Team Siamo Noi Group. The carnival concluded on Tuesday, March 4, with the final ceremony and the ritual of Lu Titoru.
