Edition 2025 — Hastiludium Montis
The first edition, July 2025
The Hastiludium Montis debuted in July 2025 as a project of the Comitato Pro Palio Monticiano, with the stated goal of promoting sport, social cohesion, and the tourism and cultural development of the Monte San Giovanni Campano area, in the province of Frosinone.
The inaugural day was marked by the consecration of the palio and the presentation of the teams, accompanied by a theatrical performance inspired by an episode from the life of Saint Thomas Aquinas, the town's patron saint, set at the D'Avalos Castle. In the following days, the historic center was animated by re-enactments, medieval games, and challenges between the six districts.
The experiment was a success: public participation and the involvement of local communities allowed the palio to immediately become a staple of the Monticiano summer, with the victory of the Porrino district.
