Grottaglie Ceramics Festival

First Edition 2025 - "Echoes of the Past"

The inaugural edition of the Grottaglie Ceramics Festival was held on August 8th and 9th, 2025, in the Ceramics Quarter, with an official opening on Friday, August 8th, on Via Francesco Crispi. The theme "Echoes of the Past" guided a program spread throughout the cave-workshops of the historic center.

From the early morning, ceramics workshops open to all ages took place, including an inclusive workshop dedicated to people with disabilities. From 7:30 PM, six different stations hosted live music and performances featuring artists such as mime-clown Elena Costa, storyteller Rosalba Santoro, the group I Ritmo Retrò, and the jazz of Simone Rosato, blending swing and Mediterranean sounds. There were also exhibitions of traditional and contemporary ceramics, demonstrations by master potters at work, and a tasting circuit of Tenuta Tre Fontane wines accompanied by taralli, with a ceramic cup as a souvenir.

The highlight was the charity auction on Saturday, August 9th, on the district's stairways, with works donated by local ceramists to support the Vite da Colorare Onlus association. The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Grottaglie, the Province of Taranto, and the Puglia Region, inaugurated a new cultural tradition for the city of ceramics.
