Great Historical Carnival of San Piero Patti

The 38th edition of the Great Historical Carnival of San Piero Patti, in the province of Messina, highlighted the figure of the Mascaràru. The festival began on Thursday, February 27 (Shrove Thursday): at 10:00 AM, entertainment for students at the Manetti Carrara Auditorium, and from noon, the senior citizens' carnival at the Società Operaia hall with music, dancing, and tastings.

On Sunday, March 2, ten competing groups and floats paraded through the town center, including Carnival 90's Vibes, Scooby-Doo, Tale Quale Show, and The Flintstones. On Saturday, March 8, the Carnevalone brought floats and groups from neighboring towns to the village, with the grand final party in Piazza Duomo animated by the De Colores Band and the pasta party. The organization was handled by A.S.D. Petra with the support of the municipal administration.
