Carnival in the City of Giorgione
The Great Carnival Festival is one of the most anticipated events of winter in Castelfranco Veneto, in the province of Treviso. For four days, the walled center, between Piazza Giorgione and Piazza Donatori di Sangue, transforms into a large open-air stage.
Floats, Masks, and Fritters
The highlight is the parade of floats, with thirteen floats and over nine hundred costumed participants animating the city streets. Alongside the parade, the Castellana Fritter Competition sees local pastry shops compete in the classic Venetian and cream categories, while the funfair is set up for the entire duration of the festival.
The Pyromusical Show
Closing the celebrations is the traditional pyromusical show, with fireworks synchronized to music. The event is organized by the Municipality of Castelfranco Veneto together with Sportify ASD, and involves the entire community in a festive atmosphere that attracts families and curious visitors from all over the Marca Trevigiana.
Carnival of Castelfranco — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Great Carnival Festival takes place from February 14th to 17th in Castelfranco Veneto, between Piazza Giorgione and Piazza Donatori di Sangue. The event is organized by the Municipality together with Sportify ASD.
The highlight is the parade of 13 floats with approximately 940 participants: due to adverse weather forecasts, the parade initially scheduled for Saturday, February 14th, has been rescheduled to Monday, February 16th at 8:00 PM, as an evening event with illuminated floats. The festival is completed by the Castellana Fritter Competition, the funfair, and the pyromusical show.

February 14-17, 2026 — Piazza Giorgione and Piazza Donatori di Sangue
- Funfair and stalls open daily from 2:00 PM (Sunday from 10:30 AM)
- Castellana Fritter Competition with local pastry shops in the classic Venetian and cream categories (participants include Al Pozzetto, Atelier del Gusto, Bedin, Boccanegra, Paradise, Sfornati d'Arte di M&M, Zucchero Svelato)
- Monday, February 16th, 8:00 PM — evening parade of 13 illuminated floats with approximately 940 participants (rescheduled from Saturday due to bad weather)
- Closing at 9:00 PM — pyromusical show hosted by Monica Morgan of Radio Bellla&Monella

How to get there
Castelfranco Veneto is reachable by train (lines from Venice, Padua, Treviso, and Bassano del Grappa) and by car from the SR53 Postumia. The parade and events take place in the walled center, between Piazza Giorgione and Piazza Donatori di Sangue.
Funfair and Timings
Funfair and stalls open every day from the afternoon (Sunday from the morning). In case of bad weather, the float parade may be postponed.
