Grande Concerto per Dalmine — Commemorazione 6 luglio 1944

The memory of July 6, 1944

On July 6, 1944, at 11 a.m., a bombing raid struck the Dalmine plant: 77 tons of bombs, approximately 278 dead, and over 800 injured. Since then, the city, in the municipality of Dalmine (Province of Bergamo), dedicates a day of commemoration to the victims each year, intertwining historical memory and the territory's industrial identity.

The Mass of Suffrage

In the morning, at 10:30 AM, in via Mazzini, next to the parvis of the church of San Giuseppe, a mass of suffrage is celebrated in the presence of civil, religious, and military authorities. It is the most solemn moment of the day, when the community gathers to remember its fallen.

The Evening Grand Concert

In the evening, at 9:00 PM, piazza Caduti 6 luglio '44 hosts the Grande Concerto per Dalmine, performed by the musical bands of Sforzatica and Almenno San Salvatore, with the participation of the Circolo dei Narratori di Dalmine. Music thus becomes the language of memory, in an event open to all citizens.

A Civic Event in the Bergamo Region

The commemoration on July 6th is one of Dalmine's most heartfelt civic events, capable of uniting different generations in remembering one of the most dramatic pages of local history. In case of bad weather, the concert will be held at the L'Arca multi-purpose space.
