The Gran Galà della Lirica — Il Castello In-Cantato is an evening of opera music held in the setting of Romeo's Castle (Castello della Villa) in Montecchio Maggiore, in the province of Vicenza. It is one of the two Scaliger manors that tradition links to the story of Romeo and Juliet, an exceptional setting for an opera concert under the stars.
Solo Voices and Orchestra
The performance brings together solo voices and orchestra to perform the most famous pieces of the operatic repertoire: arias, duets, and symphonic pieces that span the great titles of Italian melodrama. The charm of bel canto blends with the nocturnal atmosphere of the castle, creating a evocative experience for enthusiasts and beyond.
A Summer Cultural Event
Organised by the L'Aura Musica & Arti Association, the Gran Galà della Lirica is one of the flagship cultural events of the Montecchio Maggiore summer, which enhances the historical and monumental heritage of the Vicenza town through great music.

The 2026 edition of the Gran Galà della Lirica brings opera to Romeo's Castle on Friday, June 5, starting at 9:15 PM. Solo voices and orchestra perform arias and duets from the great operatic repertoire in the nocturnal setting of the Scaliger castle, directed by the L'Aura Musica & Arti Association.
