Edition 2025 — Francavilla Carnival

In 2025, the Gran Carnevale Francavillese once again enlivened the historic center of Francavilla di Sicilia with its parades of allegorical floats and masked groups, dance parties, and the traditional Shrove Tuesday Cianciùta. The event confirmed its reputation as the oldest and most characteristic carnival in the Alcantara Valley, attracting visitors from all over Eastern Sicily.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Gran Carnevale Francavillese took place in Francavilla di Sicilia (Messina) during the Carnival season. As per secular tradition, the streets of the center hosted parades of allegorical floats and masked groups, accompanied by a marching band and followed by awards ceremonies.

There was no shortage of dance parties featuring the Fasuledda on Via Vittorio Emanuele and, to close the festivities, the evocative Cianciùta, the goliardic funeral of King Carnival with the scunchiudùti, which marked the transition towards Lent.
