Edition 2025 — Gran Ballo Occitano

In previous seasons, the tradition of Occitan dance has also enlivened Ormea and the Upper Tanaro Valley as part of the region's cultural initiatives. Occitan dances, including corrente, balet, and scottish, accompanied by live music, have drawn dancers and curious onlookers to the square, confirming the vitality of this heritage in the Cuneo valleys and the Piedmontese Ligurian Alps.

Previous editions

The Occitan dance is a recurring event in the cultural life of Ormea, in the heart of the Upper Tanaro Valley in the province of Cuneo. Included in the region's widespread event series, the gathering has offered afternoons of live music and traditional square dancing, serving as an occasion for celebration and community social life.

Occitan dances represent one of the most authentic expressions of the culture of the Cuneo valleys: corrente, balet, scottish, and gigues are passed down over time and continue to unite different generations on the same dance floor. Past editions have also contributed to keeping this tradition alive, in anticipation of new events on the Ormea calendar.
