Edition 2025 — Good Friday Campobasso

In 2025, Campobasso's Good Friday again saw the Addolorata procession with the large black-clad choir singing 'Teco vorrei o Signore' through the town streets, concluding with a stop at the prison on via Cavour for the Prayer of the Prisoner.

The Good Friday Procession 2025 renewed in Campobasso a tradition passed down since 1626. Behind the statue of the Madonna Addolorata, the Addolorata choir — one hundred musicians and seven hundred black-clad singers — accompanied the procession with the hymn 'Teco vorrei o Signore' through the historic center and the Murattiano district.

As every year, the procession stopped in front of the prison on via Cavour for the 'Prayer of the Prisoner', confirming the strong bond between the Campobasso community and this centuries-old rite.

Programme

The 2025 procession followed the traditional format: departure from the Cathedral, singing of the hymn 'Teco vorrei o Signore' by the Addolorata choir through the historic center and the Murattiano district, and a stop at the prison on via Cavour for the Prayer of the Prisoner.
