Edition 2025 — Good Friday Bagnoregio

In 2025, the Good Friday Procession of Bagnoregio was held on Friday, April 18, renewing one of the oldest religious traditions in Tuscia. In this edition as well, hundreds of costumed participants accompanied the Holy Crucifix along the historic center of the Viterbo village, in a procession of great spiritual and emotional intensity.

The 2025 edition of the Good Friday Procession of Bagnoregio took place on the evening of Friday, April 18, in the Municipality in the Province of Viterbo. As per secular tradition, the historical pageant with Roman soldiers, pious women, and confraternities accompanied the precious 15th-century wooden Crucifix along the streets of the historic center, illuminated by the open flames of the lanterns.

In 2025, the rule requiring the return of Christ to his church by midnight was also respected, sealing a rite that has united the community of Bagnoregio with the village of Civita for over four centuries.
