Edition 2025 — Gnoche n Festa

The 2025 edition of Gnoche n Festa e Desmonteada took place on October 4 and 5 in Auronzo di Cadore, on the shores of Lake Santa Caterina. Decorated cows, shepherds, carts, and typical flavours celebrated Alpine transhumance, with the Desmonteada procession, gnocchi, live music, and old-fashioned games.

Gnoche n Festa e Desmonteada 2025 enlivened Auronzo di Cadore on October 4 and 5, on the shores of Lake Santa Caterina. The town centre filled with decorated carts, hay bales, farming tools, vintage games, and live music, around long community tables.

The heart of the festival, the Desmonteada: the procession of decorated cows led by the herd queen, accompanied by shepherds, dogs, sheep, goats, and horses, re-enacting the transhumance that celebrates Alpine life in Cadore. Gnocchi and traditional dishes, prepared by volunteers from Fei e Desfei APS, were the stars of the table.
