Giulio Neri International Opera Singing Competition

The 17th edition of the Giulio Neri Competition took place in Torrita di Siena, in the Province of Siena, from May 1 to 4, 2025, hosted at the Teatro degli Oscuri. The days followed the usual structure of preliminary auditions, a semi-final, and a final concert, scheduled for Sunday, May 4, at 4:00 PM.

The judging commission was chaired by Cristiano Sandri, artistic director of the Teatro Regio in Turin. In that edition, the first prize was not awarded: the second prize went ex aequo to mezzo-soprano Ilariandrea Tomasoni and soprano Jeanette Vecchione-Donatti, while the third prize was awarded to soprano Ayane Kodera. Among the special awards, the Audience Award went to soprano Maria Francesca Rossi and the recognition for young talent to mezzo-soprano Ilariandrea Tomasoni.
