The 40th-anniversary festival

The Gissi City Band Festival of 2025 was one of the most heartfelt moments of the Gissi Summer, the summer calendar of the municipality in the province of Chieti. The edition celebrated the forty years of the Gissi City Band, active continuously since 1985 under the direction of maestro Nicola Mariani. For the occasion, former members who have played in the band over the decades were called together, in an embrace between generations of Gissi musicians.

As per tradition, the day combined the parade of the bands through the village streets, greetings to the participating groups, and the final concert, with a repertoire ranging from marches to light music. The festival confirmed the deep bond between Gissi and its band, the beating heart of the cultural life of the Abruzzo village.

Traditional structure of the day: in the late afternoon, parade of the bands through the streets of the historic center; followed by awards for the participating groups; in the evening, final concert with marches, soundtracks, and band pieces. The 2025 edition also paid tribute to the former members of the Gissi City Band for the 40th anniversary of its foundation (1985-2025).
