A gastronomic journey through the alleys of Piedicastello, the village of Jovine
Guardialfiera, a village in the province of Campobasso (Molise) overlooking the lake of the same name and home of the writer Francesco Jovine, hosts Girogustando nel Borgo every summer, a food and wine event that enlivens the ancient Piedicastello district, the heart of the historic center.
During the event, local restaurants, farmhouses, and wineries set up their stalls along the streets and alleys of the village. Visitors walk through the village, tasting, for a small contribution, a selection of Molise wines and typical dishes: a true journey of taste through the authentic flavors of local tradition.
Girogustando nel Borgo is not just about food and wine: the route is enriched by a photographic exhibition and artistic performances that enhance the views of Piedicastello, making the walk an experience that combines taste, art, and atmosphere. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Guardialfiera, helps to promote a village that is currently among the candidates for Borgo dei Borghi 2026.
For 2026, a new edition of Girogustando nel Borgo is expected in Guardialfiera (CB), following the previous editions that enlivened the Piedicastello district with stands from local restaurants, farmhouses, and wineries, tastings of typical Molise wines and dishes, a photographic exhibition, and artistic performances. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Guardialfiera.
The detailed program and dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced. The usual structure of the event includes:
The 2026 dates and program will be announced by the Pro Loco of Guardialfiera on their channels.

The event is held in the summer (in past editions, in late July). The 2026 dates will be announced by the Pro Loco.
Free access to the village; tastings at the stalls require a small contribution.
