Giostra delle Contrade 2025
From September 12 to 14, 2025, the village of Mazzano Romano (Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Lazio) hosted a new edition of the Giostra delle Contrade, with free access to the historic center.
On Friday, the official opening featured the parade of Count Anguillara and the blessing of the banners in Piazza dell'Antisà, followed by drum, fire-eater, and men-at-arms shows, and a dinner under the stars with Renaissance music. On Saturday, the grand historical parade crossed the village streets, with performances by the four districts, ancient crafts, juggling, and fire dances, before the Banquet of the Four Banners. On Sunday, traditional games between the districts, the Archers' Palio in the afternoon, and the proclamation of the winning district in the evening.
As always, the districts of Barbacane, Borgo de Fora, Li Santi, and Montarello competed, with dinners served by reservation along the village alleys.
