Giostra del Borgo

The XXII edition of the Giostra del Borgo was held in Ferrara from June 5 to 22, 2025, in the green area of the Municipal Racecourse, organized by the Contrada Borgo San Luca. The inauguration on June 5, at 6:30 PM, featured flag-wavers and musicians from the Under group opening the event.

The first weekend (June 7-8) was dedicated to falconry, with an exhibition of eagles, condors, owls, falcons, buzzards, and barn owls, and free-flight demonstrations by the Falconer of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The central weekend (June 14-15) featured a visit to the armed camp, medieval merchant stalls, and the grand historical re-enactment of the "Siege of Ferrara" battle of 1333, as well as the Tournament of the Foot Soldiers with shield and club, and jester entertainment. The final weekend (June 21-22) concluded with fire shows, music, and puppet theatre by Saltafossum.

Every evening, from 7:30 PM, the "Giostra del Borgo" restaurant and the Hostaria offered typical dishes of the Ferrara tradition, confirming the festival as one of the most cherished events in the Province of Ferrara.
