Edition 2025 — Naxos Carnival
The 2025 edition of the Giardini-Naxos Carnival was a historic event: the return of the festival after a fourteen-year absence. From February 27 to March 4, the Lungomare Tysandros hosted parades of papier-mâché allegorical floats, with masked groups, dance schools, and live music overlooking the Ionian Sea.
The grand float parades took place on February 27, March 2, and March 4 (Mardi Gras), starting at 3:30 PM. The program also included the Baby Carnival on March 1 at the Mastrociccio sports hall, in collaboration with the UNICEF group, and children's entertainment on March 3 in Piazza Agorà, in the historic district. There was also a theatrical moment, "On the Traces of Peppe Nappa," linked to traditional Sicilian masks. The event, organized by the Naxos Porto di Cultura Association with the Municipality led by Mayor Giorgio Stracuzzi and councilors Pietro Aci and Fulvia Toscano, involved float-building masters, dance schools, and local security forces.
